ABOUT ME

Maren Machles is an award-winning investigative journalist who's covered the U.S. immigration system, criminal justice, tribal justice issues, gender violence, influential political figures and more. Growing up with a gravitation towards writing and storytelling, she thrives when she gets to help build complex and thoughtfully constructed narratives. She's written for news outlets, produced broadcast television news packages, directed/produced documentary films, and produced and narrated podcasts.

Maren is currently producing investigative projects at the Scripps Washington Bureau for Newsy and Stitcher. Her work has appeared on Stitcher Premium, PBS Newshour, USA Today, Newsy, DecodeDC, Long Beach Post and across Scripps local television stations.
